The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Full-Time Registered Nurse-Diabetic Educator. The Registered Nurse serves in Nursing Operations and assumes responsibility for coordinating diabetes education with a focus on patient education.
What You'll Do

- →The Registered Nurse-Diabetic Educator duties include but are not limited: Provides competent, evidence-based diabetes education to both staff and patients.
- →Responsible and accountable for all aspects of the nursing process in delivering and supervising staff and patient diabetes education.
- →Enhances Veteran- and patient-centered care by addressing experience concerns, including coordination of care, timeliness, process issues, recurring dissatisfaction themes, and environment-of-care needs within the immediate practice setting.
- →Demonstrates the ability to strengthen communication and interactions with others, fostering cooperation and confidence to support safe and effective outcomes within the practice setting.
- →Provides age-appropriate care and services that align with the patient's cognitive, emotional, and chronological development.
- →Assesses patient status data and interprets the information required to identify age-specific needs, ensuring care is provided in accordance with service policies and procedures.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with agency policy.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Acceptable form(s) of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents).
- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
